Notice! :iconsloppyperfectionist: is offering commissions at a reasonable price. Her style is idividualistic, bold, and captivating. I intend to buy from her soon, but don't have the funds yet. However, if you do, go and look. She needs a new laptop and is a student, so you're giving to a good cause and getting some kick-butt art in the process. Seriously. Go! Or spread the word!

Character/World Quiz Thing
1. Do you create different worlds/series for your characters or do you put them all/most of them in the same time and place?
I set most of them on Earth. Some of them on Earth in an alternate demension.

2. Do you sit down and create random facts about these worlds that have nothing to do with the story line? (History, biology, zoology etc.)
Um... I do a lot of research, historically. So I have to make notes about what happened when and what was acceptable when and what didn't exist when. When I do things in an alternate history, I have to think of logical explanations as to why things happen.

3. Do you have a plot line? If yes, do tell.
All of my novellas have plots. Really stupid plots. Plots like:
"A young runaway from the mob ends up in a circus run by the Devil and falls in love with the wife of a summoner."
or
"Other girl's boyfriends didn't have persistance. They just gave up after death. Well, not Linda's boyfriend. That was where he differed. He had... a lot of persistance."

4. Do you give a name to your series?
Um... again. Novellas. They all have titles.

5. Is your series dramatic, romantic, mysterious, exciting or similar to your own life?
Most things are... dramatic? Romantic?

6. Have you got characters that live in "our" world?
Yep. All of them, actually. Just different versions of "our world."
Oh, and then that crappy story set in a totally different universe, but it sucked.
And then Possession, which was okay, but wasn't mine alone.

7. When you go to sleep, do you often let your thoughts slip into your worlds? How often does this happen?
I don't know. I sometimes make characters off of characters in dreams, but I don't dream about the world's specifically.

8. Do you share your world or your characters with anyone else?
Of course.

9. Do you have friends that would rather not hear about this world of yours?
No... I mean, anyone who wants to hear can. Some of it's a little weird.

10. Is your world a place you go to when you're bored?
Yep. Of course.

11. Do you find yourself in this world more often than in the real world?
No. I go to school. I don't have a lot of time to daydream about worlds.

12. Have your relatives been worried about you because of your love for you world?
No... Wow. Is this a psych evaluation?

13. Do you bother to write down the stories you make before the idea runs away?
I write down concepts, but rarely stories.

14. Have you found or remembered stories you created years back and then laughed or cried because it was so childish?
Yep. I laugh at a lot of stuff. I laugh at the stuff I wrote at the begining of this year.

15. Ever found yourself losing the grip of a film because you started thinking about your world in stead?
Yeah... I have a lot of "wait... my characters do that. Crap." moments in films.

16. Have you ever paired up some of your own characters that are not canon just to make it "hot"?
You mean... shipped with in my own story? Oh yes. All the time. Sometimes things actually come from it. Like Nick and Gray's dynamic. Admittedly, they're not actually in love in the story, but they do have a more tender relationship with each other than with anyone else.

17. Do you have more homosexual, bisexual or heterosexual characters?
Um... all of the above?

18. Do you have more female or male characters?
Male.

19. Do you have more human (normal people, mutants, centaurs, mermaids etc), animal (normal animals, anthros etc), vegetable (trees, tree people), mineral (rocks?), extra terrestrial or other characters?
I have human characters. And some supernatural ones.

20. Name the characters that are most similar to your personality.
Peter. Terra. Tara. Linda... And maybe Max. A little bit Mila. And a little bit Syd.

21. Name the characters that are the least similar to your personality.
Aidan. Ryker. Mischa. Creech. Garret. Pomeroy.

22. Name the characters that look the most like you.
None of them? I guess Terra looks a little like me...

23. Name the characters that look the least like you.
Mortimer. Syd. Allen. Gray.

24. Name a few characters that you have "deleted" from existence.
Delbecq. Feival. Rose. Basil/Brett. Valdimar. Kane. Stephen. Leon.

25. Name your first character.
Valdimar. He's the first I remember, anyway.

26. Do you still write about/draw/think about him or her or it?
No. No, no, no.

27. Have you ever created your own species? Tell me about it.
Um... I once created a species of cat people... I don't even know how they worked. I deleted them. I used to have a species of horse, too.

28. Do you have a world you created "just for the heck of it"? Tell me about it.
I don't think I have. When I write, I determine characters first. The setting is very deliberate for the characters, so I don't just think up settings.

29. Do you have characters nobody knows about? Is this because you don't want people to know or is it just like that?
No... I mean, I have lesser known characters because people don't ask or care much, and that's fine. I just get to introduce them when they're fully fleshed out.

30. Ever wanted to create something, but realised it would be too much alike to something that already exists? Did you still keep the world?
My new story is so much like every other circus story ever, right down to the conjoined twins. But I'm keeping it. So there.

31. A Mary Sue (MS) is a fictional character who is "perfect" in every way. She's gorgeous, she's friends with everyone, everyone has a crush on her, and her only enemies are the girls who are jealous of her looks. Mainly exists in fanfiction. Tell me, if you have one of these, and when you realised she was a Mary Sue.
I honestly don't think I have this problem. I know that my character Aidan is the best canidate because she's hot, and a couple of guys want to date her... But she's married and abused and crippled.

32. Have you ever created an Anti-Sue? Tell me about it.
You mean someone who is a Mary Sue by being everything one's not? I'm sure I have, but nothing springs to mind.

33. Have anyone critiqued your world so far? How did you react?
Oh yeah. I ask critique from everyone... all the time. I take it well, I think.

34. Have anyone told you how good your world is and encouraged you to keep it up?
Not my world, but my characters.

35. Have you got high hopes about your world? Cartoon, comics, movies, radio shows?
I sometimes fantasize about getting interviewd on NPR for doing something involving writing... And come on. Who hasn't had a book to movie dream? But let's be serious. I don't expect it to happen ever.

36. Do you wish you lived in your world?
Noooo. Do you know what a Crapsack World is? Here: [link] All of my worlds are like that.

37. Do you exist in your world as a main character, a main character's friend/parent/child, or the lunch lady?
No. Why would I do that? that would be lame.

38. What part of your world are you currently working on? Tell me about it! What's going on in your world right now?
Um... in which one? I've got a couple of unresolved plotlines... Well, in the circus one, they're just making their way into West Texas.

39. Tell me about a gap in your storyline you need to fix so badly.
The relationship between Aidan and Calvin! OMG! How am I supposed to establish her flashbacks while making her fall in love with this mobster while she is married to an alcholic?

40. Is your story focused on something? Religion, music, clothes and make-up, Mother Nature, personal views or...?
Um... It's focused on the downfall of good? Everyone dies or sells their soul by the end...

41. Name some of your characters that have the direct opposite point of view as you on a topic.
Nicholas "Nick" Adams. That man is such a right-wing Southern Baptist steryotype nutcase. We're basically different of every topic. But he's got a good heart, and a lot of childhood trauma.

42. How much details do you put into your characters' personalities and looks?
Personalities, so much. I try, anyway. Looks... meh. I don't care. If something's important (like Gray and Allen both missing an eye, or Aidan's crutch, or Syd's unshaven face) then it gets brought up. But description is still part of characterization.

43. More storytelling than characters or more characters than storytelling?
I want to say it's balanced, but it's not. It's probably more characters than storytelling.

44. Is there a moral behind anything in your world?
Um... good people wear sweaters and bad people get their eyes described in vivid detail. Everyone who goes to war gets PTSD and anyone who drinks has an ulterior motive or childhood trauma. God is just a way to escape, and escape is just another word for death. Drugs are awesome, and money buys happiness. Or at least it buys hookers. And hookers are very easily decapitated and then made into lampshades or a fantastic dinner to serve to your guests. Also, homosexuality either means you are awesome or crazy. Bisexuality means you're depraved and manipulative. And heterosexuality means that you are destined for a life of abuse and lovelessness.
Huzzah!

45. Is it easier to create a new place than to place your characters in a place you've never been to before, let's say a place in England, America, Italy etc?
Easier to put them in a place I've never been before.

46. Do you sometimes pretend your characters are real just for a brief second of loneliness?
No... Again... is this a psych evaluation?

47. Ever taken cover behind your characters and let them do the talking?
What? Well, when I'm writing the story, yes.

48. Ever had a discussion with your characters?
No... But I've had a discussion *as* my characters. With friends. :D

49. Ever killed a character you really really liked?
Yep. But when I revised it, I realized I didn't have to. And it works better that he doesn't die anyway.

50. If you could be in your world for 24 hours, what would you do?
Um... try to get out of it.
